The Hempearths hemp plane! As you may have heard before, whether here or elsewhere, over a century ago Henry Ford built a car made almost completely out of canapa materials, having even made hemp ethanol to run it off. Well now Hempearths have picked up the mantel and then blown all those conceptions around this out of the water and have made the hemp plane.

Hempearth was established in 2012 and have been involved in the hemp and CBD industry ever since, bringing many products to the market. And then smashing all expectations, they designed and built the aforementioned Hemp Plane.

The Florida, US, based company not only hold what we would like to be a standard in hemp market values, bringing high quality, organic grown hemp with clear company transparency. But also want to make sure that hemp stays with the people, having rejected offers from Dupont for the plane grade hemp fiber composite which they have created and vowing to NEVER deal with companies involved with the military, The Rockerfellers, The Rothchilds or the Military Industrial Complex.

Building the plane...

Having set their sights on the task of building the plane. Hempearth, in conjunction with companies from Montreal and Australia, started the process of designing and creating the composites necessary to build everything in the plane. Parts such as the seats, wings, walls, pillows, even using Hemp Jet A Biofuel were all made from hemp derived materials. All of this makes this plane the most eco-sustainably built vehicle which I have ever heard about. Not only because of the huge amounts of materials which have been replaced with hemp fibers and resins, but also because hemp fibers themselves absorb CO2, meaning that it also takes greenhouse gases out of the air. Although this does not mean that it will have 0 impact on the environment, it’s a huge step in the right direction towards progress.

What makes hemp an ideal building material …

The thing that makes cannabis an ideal building material is that, not only does the fiber take in CO2. But it is also heavier AND pound for pound 10 times stronger than its competitor, steel.

This means that when used for example, to build a plane, it can withstand much greater amounts of stress and weight before it breaks, as well as being far more flexible than standard aerospace materials.

To compound the matter, hemp fiber is also lighter than traditional aerospace materials, such as aluminium and fiberglass. Materials which are also toxic and not sustainable. This means that less fuel is also required just to get up in the air, adding to its eco-sustainability merits.

Exactly what aviation engineers want!

In addition to the aforementioned, hemp is the most environmentally friendly material that we know of. Requiring less water and land to grow than most other plants, as well as being more productive per square acre than most other building materials. Hemp even gives back to the soil through the process of phytoremediation, a process so lacking in large swathes of crops around the world, that maybe it could even help to bring balance back to many controlled eco-systems. Eco-systems which have been damaged due to over-cropping, using chemicals, pesticides and endless amounts of horrible pollutants which are sloshed onto farmlands around the world.

Compared to steel for example which has to be mined or carbon fiber which is made with plastics. The cannabis sativa plant leaves little to no environmental impact when produced correctly.

Who Designed it?

As we mentioned before, this native Canadian company began their life in 2012. What we didn’t mention, is that they had already been innovating, before they actually put themselves to designing and building this plane. Having already made HUGE progress in innovating with Surfboards, Paddleboards, as well as dabbling in the CBD world

Although, Hempearth founder Derek Keser, has much, much bigger targets in his sight, claiming, “This is the kind of future we all want here on earth.”, hinting at the potential which hemp truly has as a building material. A statement which I believe an ever growing contingent of people are beginning to agree with, as each day we see more degradation of natural habitats all over the world.

What this could mean for the future?

Naturally, as Derek Keser and Hempearth are proving. It looks like the future certainly holds uncertainty with the situation which we are currently living in with the Covid-19. And whilst obviously hemp and CBD will not resolve these polemic issues, we at the Green Dream CBD certainly see a white light at the end of the tunnel. I growing glimmer made of hemp, which in countries like the UK for example, is certainly getting increased traction, with more and more people choosing to try CBD.

So let your friends know what hemp and CBD can bring to their lives and help us in our mission to make CBD a staple in every household spice rack/cupboard.
