When it comes to buying CBD the market has become so heavily laden with companies claiming to have the best product on the market, that it sometimes feels impossible to know if what you are getting has any quality to it at all. Here we will give you some tips so that at the very least you can know that the company you are buying from is putting in the effort to offer a legitimate and quality product.

Recently, due to a lack of regulation and very vague legislation from the UK and European governments, many companies have been selling CBD products online without even as much as a thought about the products they have been releasing into the market, with reports of products having lower quantities of CBD than claimed, some even having none; having high quantities of alcohol in tinctures, so high that they should have been classified as alcohol’s rather than a CBD based novel food and many more reports which have helped to muddy the waters of this innovative and seemingly helpful compound, which more and more are discovering on a daily basis.

Where the Good Green Company comes into the equation..

So here at the Good Green Company, we are doing everything in our power, to ensure that the products we sell are of the highest quality and adhere to our standards of CBD products which legitimately have positive effects on people. We do this by making sure that all of the products we sell have certified third party tested products, which come from certified UK, EU and US farms. Some of these being CBD Freedom (one of a select few CBD retailers in the UK to be working in conjunction with BMI hospitals within the NHS Wellbeing programme), Naturecan (who are endorsed by a number of athletes and well known personalities), Doctor Herb (one of our best selling and most popular companies), and several more. We do not endorse companies which do not offer tested, organic and high quality products, as we are here because we would like to help lift the taboo on cannabinoids and help to achieve the goal of having CBD in every one of your store cupboards, pantries, cabinets or dispensaries. CBD is the future and we would like to help you see why.

What to look for in a high quality CBD producer?

So when you are trying to find a CBD product which you can trust, we suggest a variety of things to check for, these are:

  • A 3rd party lab certificate of testing for all products.
  • Reviews from customers and actually read a variety of these to see exactly what people have to say.
  • Specification regarding their product.
  • Where they acquire their products from.
  • That they are a limited company.

3rd Party Lab Certification of testing

This is the key, every product which you buy should always have an easily accessible lab test to show the exact quantities of Cannabinoids within the product. This should be checked because without this you do not know what the product you are buying contains. Again going back to some of the recent reports of products, do you know whether this product even has CBD in it?

You should also check the quantities of each cannabinoid within the product as you may find that actually the product states it has, for example, 20% CBD, but that could be referring to CBDv, rather CBDa.

Checking reviews

Reviews can be a real insight into whether companies are bringing authentic products and sales into the market, as reviews are something which can be doctored. When checking reviews you want to make sure that you are looking to see whether, 1. The reviews are from real people and 2. Describe the actual products which are being sold.

Specification relating to the product

You also want to check how much detail the producer of the product adds onto the product. For example, if you are looking to buy some capsules or gummies, some products may state on the title that the pack contains “1000mg” of CBD, the better quality companies will then specify this to the quantity per capsule or gummy. So if there was a pack of 100 for example, you would then be looking for the description to state that there are 10mg of CBD per capsule.

Where they acquire their products from

To ensure that the products which you are getting are of top quality is by checking to see whether the company states where they get their products from, whether it be the EU or US. In the UK it is much harder to get top quality CBD products due to the fact that the laws for producing CBD products from the flower itself are very complicated. The products cannot be produced using flowers, therefore any company which produces CBD from UK grown fields will only be able to use stems and leaf, meaning that it is much harder to get the same quality product as from the EU and US companies. This is why you will see many companies which source their products from outside of the UK.

That they are a limited company

This will generally mean that the company which is selling products is accountable, as any failures when selling to a customer, would then come under the Trading Standards legislation, for which there can be heavy penalties.

To summarise, whilst the process of discovering whether CBD works for what you are looking for is still a personal process for which you have to give time and some testing. The process of buying the products themselves is something which you should not leave to testing or luck, instead, do some research, speak to the company from which you are buying first and make sure that you can be certain that you are buying from reputable suppliers.
